Millicent Furniture: a Taos artist finds her niche in hand carved furniture

JLH worked with artist and designer Emily Henry to promote her line of furniture, inspired by her childhood in Taos on the Mabel Dodge Luhan compound, where she had free rein to explore. The freewheeling nature of her early days in the spectacular Southwest landscape is reflected in her whimsical, solid wood consoles, cabinets, tables and other pieces. Each of her pieces are hand carved and finished with intricate reflections of fabric, botany and urban infrastructure. JLH aimed to tell the origin story of the artist in concert with the importance and personal nature of her craft.
