JLH Media is based in Santa Fe, NM and offers comprehensive communications services including PR, marketing, special events and representation to the tourism industry.
Jennifer Hobson – Principal
Jennifer founded JLH Media in 2011 after 3 years in the position of Deputy Cabinet Secretary at the New Mexico Tourism Department, appointed by Governor Bill Richardson. Some of Jennifer’s major projects included the launch and development of America’s first statewide Ecotourism program and management of PR firms in LA, Tokyo, Paris, London and Munich. The Tourism industry in New Mexico is the second biggest revenue earner for the state after gas and oil, with an annual economic impact of over $7 billion.
Prior to her appointment within state government, Jennifer was the Director of an LA based PR firm’s New Mexico office in Santa Fe, handling the New Mexico Tourism Department, New Mexico Film Office, Santa Fe Studios, Santa Fe Convention and Visitors Bureau, and other tourism businesses and brands in both New Mexico and Los Angeles. Jennifer’s role in public relations began after work as a freelance writer and columnist.
Jennifer currently serves on the Endowment Committee for the Georgia O’Keeffe Museum, as well as the board of the Santa Fe 400th Commemoration and recently was part of the Governor’s Tribal Task Force for Economic Development. Originally from southern California, Jennifer found her way to Santa Fe from Sun Valley, Idaho in 2002 in order to get her Master’s Degree in Liberal Arts from St. John’s College. Jennifer received her BA in 2002 as a double major in English and Spanish. She loves yoga, writing, and fly fishing.
Jennifer Padilla - Account Director
Jennifer joined JLH from Padilla Public Relations, a Santa Fe-based company that implemented strategic and tactical public relations and marketing campaigns for a variety of New Mexico clients, including Cornerstones Community Partnerships, Rosewood Inn of the Anasazi and Española Valley Humane Society. Previous to establishing and growing her own small business, Ms. Padilla served as Director of Marketing and Public Relations at The Lensic, Santa Fe’s Performing Arts Center, and as Assistant Director of Marketing and Public Relations at the Georgia O’Keeffe Museum.
After growing up in Alamogordo, N.M. and receiving a B.A. in English from the University of New Mexico, Ms. Padilla moved to Washington, D.C. in 1996 and worked in the advertising department for the Washington Post, and subsequently as a production coordinator for the Washington Post Magazine.
Ms. Padilla returned to New Mexico to work for the Georgia O’Keeffe Museum in 2000. While living in D.C., she often joked with her colleagues and friends that she should return to New Mexico to work for the tourist bureau because she had so many stories and good things to say about her home state. Needless to say, Ms. Padilla remains passionate about helping to tell the compelling stories of businesses in New Mexico and applying her various communications skills making a positive contribution to the community.
Ms. Padilla lives on the Southside of Santa Fe with her husband, son and two Chocolate Labradors. She enjoys the visual arts, poetry, making collage and cooking.
