Jennifer Hobson – Principal

untitled--2Jennifer founded JLH Media in 2011 after 3 years in the position of Deputy Cabinet Secretary at the New Mexico Tourism Department, appointed by Governor Bill Richardson. Some of Jennifer’s major projects included the launch and development of America’s first statewide Ecotourism program and management of PR firms in LA, Tokyo, Paris, London and Munich. The Tourism industry in New Mexico is the second biggest revenue earner for the state after gas and oil, with an annual economic impact of over $7 billion.

Prior to her appointment within state government, Jennifer was the Director of an LA based PR firm’s New Mexico office in Santa Fe, handling the New Mexico Tourism Department, New Mexico Film Office, Santa Fe Studios, Santa Fe Convention and Visitors Bureau, and other tourism businesses and brands in both New Mexico and Los Angeles. Jennifer’s role in public relations began after work as a freelance writer and columnist.

Jennifer currently serves on the Endowment Committee for the Georgia O’Keeffe Museum, as well as the board of the Santa Fe 400th Commemoration and recently was part of the Governor’s Tribal Task Force for Economic Development. Originally from southern California, Jennifer found her way to Santa Fe from Sun Valley, Idaho in 2002 in order to get her Master’s Degree in Liberal Arts from St. John’s College. Jennifer received her BA in 2002 as a double major in English and Spanish. She loves yoga, writing, and fly fishing.

Jennifer Padilla - Account Director

Jennifer joined JLH from Padillauntitled--5 Public Relations, a Santa Fe-based company that  implemented strategic and tactical public relations and marketing campaigns for a variety of New Mexico clients, including Cornerstones Community Partnerships, Rosewood Inn of the Anasazi and Española Valley Humane Society. Previous to establishing and growing her own small business, Ms. Padilla served as Director of Marketing and Public Relations at The Lensic, Santa Fe’s Performing Arts Center, and as Assistant Director of Marketing and Public Relations at the Georgia O’Keeffe Museum.

After growing up in Alamogordo, N.M. and receiving a B.A. in English from the University of New Mexico, Ms. Padilla moved to Washington, D.C. in 1996 and worked in the advertising department for the Washington Post, and subsequently as a production coordinator for the Washington Post Magazine.

Ms. Padilla returned to New Mexico to work for the Georgia O’Keeffe Museum in 2000. While living in D.C., she often joked with her colleagues and friends that she should return to New Mexico to work for the tourist bureau because she had so many stories and good things to say about her home state. Needless to say, Ms. Padilla remains passionate about helping to tell the compelling stories of businesses in New Mexico and applying her various communications skills making a positive contribution to the community.

Ms. Padilla lives on the Southside of Santa Fe with her husband, son and two Chocolate Labradors. She enjoys the visual arts, poetry, making collage and cooking.

Lisa Neal – Account Director

Lisa joined JLH MedJHL-9108ia as an Account Director and Social Media Specialist in 2012. Raised in Southern New Mexico, Lisa moved to Santa Fe in 2007 to work for the New Mexico Legislative Finance Committee and later the New Mexico Legislative Council Service. She has held various positions related to public relations, fundraising, and marketing, including a press office position in the D.C. office of former New Mexico Senator Pete Domenici.  

Lisa holds B.A.’s in English and French from New Mexico State University and specializes in technical writing.   She has worked with various Santa Fe non-profits, including the Santa Fe Institute, and has provided grant research and consultation services for both profit and non-profit entities. In her spare time, Lisa volunteers for the Espanola Valley Humane Society and moonlights as a fiction writer.

Megan Perkins – Marketing Specialist

Megan moved to New Mexico after holding a variety of state and political jobs in Wisconsin and Washington, DC focusing on marketing and program development.  Most recently, Megan headed the $2 billion college savings program for the state of Wisconsin.  As Director of the Wisconsin College Savings Program, Megan recruited multiple state partners and created Higher Education Day.   This yearly event resulted in over 20 local events around the state, write-ups in state and local papers, scholarship contests, as well as radio and television coverage.  During her tenure, Megan increased both media and public interest in the program fivefold. 

Megan received her BA from Colorado College and a Masters from George Washington University.  She worked for a Massachusetts Senator in Washington, DC as well as on his presidential campaign in both Cleveland and Wisconsin.  After moving to Wisconsin,  Megan served as the spokeswoman and Chief of Staff for the  First Lady of Wisconsin and the State Treasurer.  

Since moving to Santa Fe, Megan has become involved volunteering and raising money for Girls on the Run, CASA, Healing the Children SW, and runs the stewardship campaign for United Church of Santa Fe.  Megan also currently serves as a website marketing consultant for three clients.   She enjoys spending weekends hiking with her husband, 3 year old son, and a labradoodle named Chewy.

Wendy Forbes – Wendy92 LLC

Wendy Forbes is the owner of Wendy92, LLC a social media strategy firm specializing in hospitality, tourism, arts and culture.  She has 20 years experience in all facets of communications including journalism, public relations, marketing, advertising and film. Wendy began her career in advertising in Great Falls, Montana where she was media director at Banik Creative Group. While there, she worked on successful marketing strategies and media plans for clients including Coca-Cola and Buick.  Wendy moved to Albuquerque in 1994 and served both as an award-winning news producer for KOAT-TV and Public Relations Director for the Greater Albuquerque Chamber of Commerce. She continued her work in advertising for seven years as an account executive at VWK, working with clients including the Arizona Cardinals, the Santa Fe Convention and Visitors Bureau and the New Mexico Economic Development Department.  She opened Wendy92, LLC in March 2010. Her current clients include both New Mexico legacy brands and new enterprises.  Wendy has a Bachelor of Science degree in Communications from the University of Miami. She is the current co-chair of the Santa Fe Chamber of Commerce’s Tourism Committee and recipient of the Santa Fe Chamber of Commerce’s 2011 Tourism Volunteer of the Year.
